THE EIGHTH IN THE PARANORMAL CRIME SERIES
SPIN
Publishing target date is winter of 2008
So many times in life, we think things are one way, and then they turn three-hundred and sixty degrees out. Like a batter who normally strikes out, but for some unknown reason, hits a homer on the last pitch before strike three. The spin to that, is a strong batter striking out on the first pitch.
Those are the curved spin balls, we catch on a daily basis, the fiber of our lives. Some are thrown underhand, at a slow speed ,allowing the catcher to scratch there head, and then hold out their mitt to effortlessly retrieve the ball. But, there's one pitcher who consistently sails the ball through the air at warped speeds, forcing the catcher to be on their toes. As we know, humans fail and their lives go spinning out of control.
It was a normal Thanksgiving dinner in two states, North Carolina and New York. Conversation was good, the fare was fabulous and the guests were having a incredible time, until something was said and the party goers were shocked by the spin of things. From that point on, nothing could be taken for face value. Matter-of-fact, what appeared to be normal, turned out to be paranormal. Babies, husbands, wives, fathers, daughters, relationships, jobs; all seem so simple, yet are proven to be questionable. Problem after problem pops up, pushing the recipients over the edge, on what is real, and not real. Truth is defied.
As the down trodden wife, who is burdened to the max with a plethora of life changing decisions, reviews the alternatives and solutions. None of the spins have predictable outcomes. She then decides to do her normal routine run to clear her mind, but instead, she finds herself entrapped in a vicious web of deceit, abducted in the safest part of the state; a small town, gated community, on top of a mountain. This was a spin she wasn't looking for.
But as with all spins, they can be one hundred and eighty degree turn outs, which allows circumstances to be favorable. But, if the spin is a three-sixty, the participant is back at route one, and the confirmed problem is still life threatening. This spin is three-sixty. Death will prevail, or will it? But why the spin? The old adage holds true; never judge a book by it's cover.
